Bank Negara Malaysia alongwith the financial and insurance industry has collaborated to design the exclusive and prestigious Financial Sector Talent Enrichment Programme (FSTEP) to develop robust talent for the financial industry.
FSTEP's objective is to attract graduates from diverse academic backgrounds; from both local and foreign institutions of higher learning to pursue exciting and successful career in the financial industry. High caliber graduates will also gain essential skills for them to excel and this in turn will build a sustainable pool of human capital talent capable of supporting the growth of the industry.
FSTEP provides an intensive one-year training programme in conventional banking, investment banking, Islamic banking including Insurance & Takaful. The comprehensive training module encompasses simulations, workshops, case studies as well as internship with financial institutions. Participants will also undergo personal development modules and be involved in community projects aimed at developing well-rounded individuals.
It is a part of the module to conduct a Personal Development Programme (PDP) to develop multifaceted leaders who can assume the cross functional responsibilities of the company leadership. We believe this will help the participants (with the average age of 20-30, total of 220 pax) to use this broader vision to excel in both decision making and execution for sustained corporate advantage.There are two major focus of PDP which consists of:
1) Self Motivation
- Build strategic skills for effective decision making and implementation
- Develop a personal leadership philosophy that reflects greater knowledge, capabilities and confidences
- Formulate a holistic approach to identify problems, formulate solutions and adapting to change
- Acquire an in-depth understanding of core business functions and build foundational skills to integrate these functions across the organization
- To build up personal appearance
- Presenting a professional image in business environment visually and vocally
- Business etiquette and protocol
- Enhancing Public Relation (PR) skills - Customer Service
